Tiny text is just as unethical as hidden text. Tiny text is done by reducing the text size until it is barely readable. Again you cannot hide tiny text from search engines, they find any abnormality.

The fact is, that each search engine has their own rules of conduct that they go by and can amend them any time they choose to.
