Article Marketing on the Internet is a whole different story

Article Marketing on the Internet is a whole different story because of the way your articles reach humans who have an interest in them. Article Marketing will help you increase your link popularity, search engine positioning for your keywords and phrases, and it helps you reach more potential customers for your products or services.

The popularity of article marketing cannot be ignored these days. Millions of online entrepreneurs and marketers from all parts of the world are using this technique as their primary marketing tool not only because it is cost-effective but also because it delivers great results in terms of traffic generation and product promotion.

Here are the 5 creative secrets to make money with article marketing:

1. Improve your writing skills. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or if you are already an expert writer. If you want to get ahead of the pack and consistently set yourself apart from the rest, you must strive to master and improve on your craft. By doing so, you will be able to offer your customers with nothing but the best every time you write your articles. You can easily increase your skill level by writing on a regular basis, expanding your vocabulary, working with other expert writers, and attending writing seminars.

2. Use a killer resource box. If your resource box is unable to convert your readers to potential clients, your conversion rate and sales will surely suffer. So, make it enticing and attention-grabbing by including your name, your expertise, a powerful call to action, and a compelling elevator pitch. You may also opt to offer incentives like free ebooks or tutorials to boost your conversion rate.

3. Produce more articles. To easily boost the number of your inbound links that can greatly help you strengthen your online presence and pull up your search engine ranking, strive to multiply the number of your articles. This can easily be done by producing short articles that are quicker to write or by hiring a ghostwriter.

4. Consider your potential readers. What information do they need? What are their pressing issues and questions? What is their preferred writing style and writing format? What is their gender, age, economic status, educational background, and occupation? Get to know the people to whom you are writing for so you can easily choose the type of information that they will appreciate and make your content highly targeted to their needs and demands.

5. Make your articles interesting to read. Never bore your readers by sounding too formal or too stiff. Instead, try to sound warm and friendly by using conversational tone. It would help if you can insert questions once in a while or share interesting personal success stories that your readers can easily relate to.

For most people, writing has never been their strongest skill. Even while in school a lot of us seem to exert tremendous amount of effort when writing essays and still fail to deliver content that makes sense and reads well. However, this should not be your basis when writing articles for the web. Because truth be told, article writing is a a lot easier than writing lengthy essay.

As such, you can still use article marketing in popularizing your website even if you are not a professional writer. Here are the 4 popular ways to jump start your article marketing:

1. Start writing 2-3 articles per day. Don't rush into multiplying the number of your articles. Stick with 2-3 articles until you get the hang of it. If you are having hard time putting your ideas into words, I suggest that you imagine someone asking you questions about the topic that you intend to write. Then, think of how you would exactly reply if you are talking to this person face to face. This is how you should exactly write your articles so they would sound conversational and easy to read.

2. Have your articles proofread by professional writers or editors. These people can help you identify the weak points of your articles that might hinder you from reaping success in this field. Take each of their feedback constructively and apply them on your writing until you are able to produce well-written articles.

3. Once you are able to write quality content, learn how to create a compelling resource box. There are various tutorials and ebooks online that can tremendously help you learn the ropes of writing resource box that delivers great results.

4. Lastly, create an account on major article submission sites and understand their terms of service. Make sure you follow all their rules so your articles will not be rejected.

Article Marketing is a great way to get the word out about yourself and your business. Even people that have never written before are finding success writing short informative articles and marketing them through Article Directories. The great thing is you don't have to be a professional writer to benefit from this Internet based form of marketing. It's simply a matter of writing about something you know or are interested in, and writing your article as if you were talking to a friend sitting next to you. While I believe just about anyone is capable of writing an article that is worthy of being published, there are a few things to avoid when writing your article to keep it from winding up on the publishing scrap pile.

Of all the mistakes that writers make, gross spelling errors is one of the most blatant. When I speak of spelling errors, I'm not talking about the occasional misspelling of a word, or using the word in the wrong context like using 'there' instead of 'their' but we are talking about articles that are written as if the writer has never opened a dictionary before. The thing is, there really is no reason to submit an article full of misspelled words. All one needs to do, is use a 'spell checker' to proofread their article. Some article directories like 'Ezine Articles' even provide a free spell checker that will let you check your spelling before submitting the article. No matter how good you think your spelling is, my advice is to use a spell checker before submitting your article. I always use one before I submit an article, and I'm amazed at the spelling errors I find in my writings.

Another mistake that writers make is writing an article that is either too long or too short. You want to try and get in the habit of saying what you have to say as concisely as possible. I usually try to compose my articles with a structure of 5-7 paragraphs and word count of between 400-700 words. Any less than 400 words, and most newsletter publishers and owners of websites won't bother to use it for publication. It's the same with articles that run on forever. Remember, you are not writing a book, you just want to compose a short, entertaining or informative article that others will read and hopefully post on their website. Your goal is to have your article distributed around the Internet as much as possible. Keeping your articles short but concise will help you to accomplish this goal.

One of the most egregious errors that I see some authors make is the misuse of the 'Resource Box'. It's a shame to see a well written article about some topic only to see the Resource Box not being used properly. For instance, if you're writing an article about Tropical Fish, you wouldn't want to include a link in your Resource Box that takes the visitor to a site that tells them how they can save money on their taxes with a piece of software. You want to link the information in the Resource Box to the article as much as possible. If you are writing a somewhat general article about making money, you're probably safe in linking to most other sites about making money in one form or another. On the other hand, if your article is written about a particular niche, then use the Resource Box to send your visitors to a website that relates to what your article is about.

Another vital ingredient to Article Marketing success is submitting your articles to the right Article Directories. There are literally thousands of directories to submit your articles to on the Internet. While some people will suggest that you submit your articles to as many directories as possible, I try and submit my articles to the highest ranked directories on the Internet. The reasons for this are not only because you receive more visitors from these directory sites, but your articles will oftentimes receive a higher page ranking by the search engines which leads to long term traffic for you. One technique I use to check on the effectiveness of an article directory is after submitting an article, going back a week or two later to check on the article stats. If I find that the article is waiting to be reviewed or hasn't been downloaded much, then I'll most likely avoid submitting any more articles to that directory in the future.

Article Marketing can be a great way to bring traffic to your website. If done properly, your article can bring you traffic for years to come. While your article writing probably won't lead to a new career as a novelist, it can lead to greater exposure for you and increased profit.

Three Things You Must Do Before You Submit To Article Directories

To all writers and non-writers out there, now is the time to start digging up those creative writing skills. With modern communication technology comes the popularity of information-based marketing, which is one of the oldest and most effective techniques in getting targeted prospects to sites and converting them into buyers. This is

Do you ever wonder what the point is in spending all this time, energy and money trying to spread your website link around?

Do you get a sinking feeling in your stomach every time you have to shell out more money for clicks that give you impressive numbers but lead nowhere?

Are you weary of crazed marketing types clamoring to swap links with you when you know that there's no *real* interest in what you offer?

Link distribution makes sense if you want to get more exposure and watch your website climb higher on the search engine hierarchy, sure. Being highly and permanently visible is vital to the long-term growth of your business. Buying your way to a big, fat subscriber list will help you to feel popular and loved.

But what good is that sky-high Alexa rank if the people who are clicking on your site have little to no interest in your product anyway?

Having a website that's widely visited by people who are only mildly concerned with what you do, is like having tons of people who claim to be your friends but no one to call up when you want to get close and personal.

Do you ever wish for an improved kind of link swapping, one that not only spreads your link far and wide on the Web, but also leaves your reader with a little golden nugget of who you are and what you can do for them?

Do you ever wish for a widespread marketing campaign that will reach your target audience... the ones who are emotionally connected to your product and willing to pay cash for it? But let me guess... you don't want to invest money in hiring a team of advertising strategists?

It's time to pay homage to the Internet Gods... because they heard your prayers and the answer is finally here.

IT'S ARTICLE MARKETING.

People have a really hard time grasping what article marketing is all about, for some reason.

If they're writers, they want to just go on a meandering ramble about whatever strikes their fancy. They forget about the fact that Article Marketing is a primo opportunity to reel in a hearty helping of hot buying prospects by way of fresh content that's specifically geared to one pool of consumers. They forget that scrabbling their musing is not really going to help to that end.

If they're marketers, they think: Oh, I don't have the time or inclination to write. So they go back to shelling out big bucks for impersonal linking strategies that reach General Audience only, and that's no way to be a good marketer. That's no way to build the power of your brand.

If you've never written an article with the intention of having it picked up and spread around the internet with your business URL at the bottom, go directly to Ezinearticles.com right now, create an author account, and write one immediately.

Once you've done that, a strange, peaceful sensation may steal over you. This peaceful experience you're having is one that comes with knowing you communicated just the right message to the right people. This, dear marketer, is the stuff that Branding Dreams are made of.

So, Article Marketing. Read all about it! Find out about the hottest linking craze on the net that will make you a standout in your niche. Then... map out a campaign, plan to pitch your product... and start writing those articles!

The sky is wide open, what will you do next to help your business?

Making Money with Your Blog!

A place for finding the Nuts and Bolts for Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing Business Opportunity!

When writing website content, like many aspects of online marketing, it is easy to get lost in a wash of statistics and numbers; desired word length, keyword ratio, and the Flesch Kincaid grade level are just some of these numbers. A lot of these numbers assist in creating effective copy, but they should not be treated as a rigid plan to write copy. Each site has different requirements, governed by the topic of the site, the knowledge level of site visitors, and the requirement of the Webmaster.

Content Length

The length of a web page is important, but not necessarily the same for every site, or every page. Blogs will, in most cases, require fewer words than a normal website. A blog needs to deliver a quick hit, because this is what blog readers are looking for. Websites trying to convey a technical subject will probably require the use of more words, and longer sentences.

For the average information websites, sentences should average around 10 words or fewer. Most pages will include longer sentences too. Wherever possible, the longer sentences should be dispersed through the page. This helps ensure the page is easily readable by all visitors. Paragraphs should also be short approximately 4 or 5 sentences.

10 word sentences are very short. It would make a page virtually unreadable if you were to try and construct it entirely in this way. However, shorter paragraphs do help create a compelling looking page. Short sentences also make a page easy and appealing to read.

Keyword Density

The keyword density is the number of keywords in a page, in relation to the total words on that page. Initially, the search engines had a very rigid view on ideal keyword density. More recently, though, they have employed more complex rules. In addition, each of the search engines have different requirements.

Keyword density is a maligned facet of website content and SEO. It is important to include keywords. This ensures that the search engines have a way to recognize the topic of the page. Google, in particular, though, considers the supporting keywords on your page. As well as looking at a specific keyword the search engines also consider the stems of keywords and related keywords.

Ensuring that page copy contains relevant keywords, but not too frequently, ensures that the content reads well. Don't attempt to aim for a specific density. Ensure that the content reads well for your visitors, and the rest will naturally follow.

Flesch Reading Ease And Flesch Kincaid Grade Level

The Flesch Reading Ease test includes a lot of the above factors. This mathematical formula uses total words, sentences, and syllables to ascertain a numerical score. The higher the number, the easier the passage is to read. A score of 90-100 can be easily read by a 5th grader. It is believed that websites with a score of 60-80 are the most effective; this score is equivalent to an 8th or 9th grade reading level.

The Flesch Kincaid Grade Level test uses similar figures. However, the score it provides relates to a US grade level. The ideal score for a typical website is 8 or 9.

As with keyword density, sentence length, and paragraph length, you don't need to stick too rigidly to the advised figures. Your visitors won't calculate the Flesch Kincaid Grade Level of your website, but they do want understandable text.

  • In order to ensure that visitors don't simply click the Back button, you should also ensure that you use shorter paragraphs.
  • The total length of a page also dictates how appealing that page is, in general.
  • The reading age and grade level of the page can be used as a good indicator of how easy that page is to read.
  • If it reads well, and performs well, the numbers don't matter.

Just what are the Benefits of Submitting Articles to E-Zines

E-zine advertising is perhaps one of the most underused forms of promotion. It is a good idea to do your homework, before launching your viral marketing campaign. Article writing and publishing has become the latest buzz in the internet website marketing world. The name of the game as far as Internet marketing

One of the big debates when you start your home internet business is whether you should learn how to do SEO for your site yourself or hire a professional. There are advantages and disadvantages to both methods. In this article I would like to compare both situations.

If you are just starting out there probably is a very big chance that you do not have that much money to invest. Usually a professional company will charge in the region of at least $2000 a month. If you do not have this money to spend then your budget will force you to do this yourself. However, if you are starting with a fairly large budget and you have a very good idea with a lot of your own products to sell then this may be a good idea. Just make sure that you choose a reputable company. It will save you a lot of time if you do not have to do this yourself.

One of the big advantages of learning this is that you can build as many websites as you like without having to pay extra for additional optimization charges. Basically, you can build your own virtual real estate online. Look for profitable niche markets and then create your web site yourself. You can use a combination of affiliate links, Google Adsense advertising or create your own products.

However, one of the disadvantages is that you need to keep pace of the developments in the industry. What works today may not work in the future. This will require a massive investment of your time and interest. You can follow white hat strategies which will ensure your long term success like building a quality web site that people will want to link to. However, if you hit a problem like say for example you have a dynamic web site using a scripting language and all of the sudden your site gets dropped from the search engines you will be alone and struggle to get your rankings back if you do not know what to do.

I have briefly looked at the two paths that you can follow, however your decision will most likely be made by how much time and capital that you have to invest in your business.

Are you really interested in driving massive traffic to your website?

Making Money with Your Blog!

A place for finding the Nuts and Bolts for Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing Business Opportunity!

Call me crazy, but I love the analogy that publishing an article is like hiring a salesman and sending him out to sell for me. Not only do I think it is cool to think about how many salesmen I can enlist to do the work, but I like all of the parallels that can be drawn between the two.

First of all, a solid group of articles is probably even better than a salesman, if they are equipped with all the right tools. I say this because an article really does never sleep, doesn't need an expense account, doesn't drink alcohol, and can't get into an automobile accident... This doesn't even take into consideration never complaining or being able to quit.

So, what are some of the way's they are alike? Well, let's start by saying that if you don't equip them properly than you can greatly reduce their effectiveness. If I hired a sales rep, and never gave him business cards, he would probably have a hard time getting call backs much less what it would do to his credibility. This is what it is like if you don't create your resource box on your article. There is no way to find you, and how much stock are you going to put into an article that isn't signed?

Let's say you do put a resource box at the end of your article but you don't have the right information in it. This would be like giving your sales rep business cards, but not putting his name on them, or no phone number. How do you think that will impact his effectiveness?

Many of the characteristics of your article can have similar impacts as a sales rep that shares those characteristics also. For example, if your article is too smart, it will probably be too long and won't connect well with the attended audience. This would work out about the same as a salesman that was just a little too smart. He would probably come across as arrogant, and not connect well with potential clients.

What if your sales rep came across as aloof and not so bright? Well, people are not going to be confident that he can really help them or that he can be counted on. Same with an article that is full of fluff or is poorly written: the reader is going to think, this guy probably can't help me, or he doesn't care enough for me to trust him.

Want to learn more about the kinds of things that make a great resource box and that will help your articles hit the mark? Come sign up for my ezine and get access to my blog.

Writing article? What a boring thing to do. Yes, boring it may be to some people, but article writing or marketing is one of the best ways any home business person can use to generate an endless flow of traffic to a website. But how willing are people to do this?

I love article marketing because it is the best form of advertising whatsoever you have on the internet. The reason is an article posted online has the potential of giving you steady traffic and website visitors for a very long time to come.

Are you a home based business person? Are you trying to sell your products online? Are you trying to build your downline? Are also using article marketing to sell or answer the above questions?

Unlike any paid advertising which last for a while, article marketing can stay for as long as the directories you submitted your articles to, stays online.

When you write an article for building a downline in your home business, your articles should not be focused on the opportunity. It should focus on a product or service that your home business produce. Now what I'm saying is this, you should write on the subject matter concerning your product and not a plain advert as an article.

There should be nothing like any sales pitch. It should be an informative article that tells each of your reader how vast and valuable in terms of knowledge you have on the subject matter.

Articles does not in any way forces readers to buy a product of any sort. Instead it gives them enough information that they seek to find out more about you the writer of those articles.

When people finally make the decision to have a go at e-commerce most of them think only of a great website and products. But I'll be the first to tell you that this is a very small consideration when it comes to being successful online. We know that the income generated from e-commerce can be very substantial. This is why more people are turning to the Internet to not only supplement their income but also to replace it.

Success Online

Being successful online is not just a matter of consistent work, it also requires planning and a proper strategy. A very effective way of success online is Search Engine Optimization (SEO). This simply means constantly improving your Website ranking in search engine listings. This will keep a constant flow of new traffic to your website.

Search Engines And How They Work

A search engine is a Website that is setup to allow users to enter a keyword or phase and in return it gives results for the user that are relevant to their keywords. Obvious examples of this would be Google and Yahoo.

Search Engines use programs called Spiders or Robots that crawl through the indexed sites to return the most high ranking site in that index based on the keywords that were selected.

Most products or services are searched through these engines and this is why its important to have a high ranking. You want to be listed somewhere on the first or second page for the chosen keyword.

Search Engine Optimization For Your Website

The keyword information that these users/customers are searching with can be placed on your webpage to get consideration and high rank in search engines.

Tips For SEO

Certain e-commerce applications are designed for automatic SEO. An example would be ProStores. Avoid the use of frames that divide into separately controlled windows. Frames and search engines don't work well together. Include lots of text. The more relevant text you have the higher your ranking.

Choose the right keywords. See my article What To Consider Before Paying Per Click This will give you information on keywords and how to properly select them.

Keep updating your site. Search engines look for fresh content. If your site is constantly updated you will get and keep a higher ranking than others sites that are not updated regularly.

From this you can see that it's about more than just your product and a pretty website. What needs as much attention is what your site says and how the search engines view your material. Happy Optimizing.

A Meta Description's overall purpose is to provide a brief explanation of a site and most importantly, to name the major items being sold. It can help rankings in search engines in providing more relevance to a site by giving spiders an accurate summary of its place on the net. As the words imply, a Meta Title names a site while a Meta Description describes the page to search engines and directories. In general, the Description can be considered a lengthened extension of the Title.

Writing Your Meta Description
When forming your Description, use common sense, logic and a touch of creative writing. If you haven't done so already, create your Meta Title first. Once you have the keywords and text used there, you can use that information to help in writing your Description.

The text amount should not surpass 150 words. It is meant to be a short rundown of your site, so keep it concise and to the point.

Most importantly- include major keywords in your description. There is more room in the Description tag, so include more keywords. Make certain they are specific, relevant and pertinent to the major items you sale. Always place your top keywords first within the text.

Avoid spam. Repeating keywords (more than 5 times) in your Meta Description may be viewed negatively by search engine spiders.

The Description is used as the summary in some search engine listings. So while keeping the text as relevant as possible, also make it inviting to potential customers. If a search engine uses a Meta Description and you don't have one, it will pull random text from your page. This can confuse visitors and may result in a lost visit to your site. Make sure you have Descriptions that educate, rather than confuse.

Include Meta Descriptions in all areas of your site. It is important for a site's homepage, as well as each Product and Category page. For these specific pages, try to keep the Description at about 50 words, roughly 2-3 sentences long.

Once you are finished writing, check your text from an outside perspective. Make sure it describes your site's overall purpose, products and entices you to go inside.

Description: one way of jumpstarting you link campaign is to get directory links. You can jumpstart your link campaign by getting directory links. Building links, by listing your website in the search engines and directories, is one way of increasing your link popularity, especially if yours is a new site or one with no inbound links. However, you should choose your directories and search engines well. But, the shortage of inbound links puts your site at a severe disadvantage because link analysis is an important part of every search engine's ranking algorithm.

So, you can overcome this disadvantage by getting a few quality links. And a good way to start is to get listed in as many directories as you can. There are many directories out there, and the more you can get into, the better. If you have a business related website, and it cant be accepted by non-for-profit directories, then you should try submitting it into business directories and should be prepared to pay a small fee for it. A good strategy is to contact a site that doesnt offer advertising or paid listing and offer a small amount of money in return for a link. Chances are that few will be willing to accept your link. A few that you should try and get your site listed in, are Open Directory (http://www.dmoz.org), Yahoo(http://www.yahoo.com), LookSmart (http://www.looksmart.com), Zeal (http://www.dmoz.org), Joeant (http://www.joeant.com) and Business.com (http://www.business.com), Discount-Search.com (http://www.discount-search.com) or any other business directory if you site doesnt qualify for free submission.

And these directories and search engines are gold mines as linking partners, waiting and begging to be mined by an enterprising and prospecting webmaster. The most obvious Internet directory to start with, when beginning a comprehensive link search, is the well-known DMOZ directory. Its complete category and sub-category classification system makes it convenient for any website owner to find numerous sites within their area of business.

With DMOZ, theres no need to contact them for link exchanges if youre concerned about loss of visitor traffic to their sites. However, if youre not listed in the DMOZ directory, you can still find the category where your site would probably be included. And the process remains the same for finding link partners, whether your site is listed or not.

Another directory that is good is The Yahoo! Directory which has many of the same sites in its list as DMOZ. This is inevitable. There are, however, many sites listed in Yahoo! that are not part of the Open Directory Project. And this fact opens up many more possibilities for the webmaster.

When you go to the Yahoo! Directory, you must first go to your category, if youre already listed. But if youre site is not listed, you should select the most probable one. However, keep in mind that the listings are in alphabetical order, and may not have the same descriptions as the DMOZ directory. Then, use the same procedure as before, and your list of potential linking partners will grow larger.

A third important Internet directory is the Google Directory. They use listings supplied by the Open Directory Project and the listings are very similar to those found in DMOZ. But, Google is different in that it orders the results from the highest PageRank listing to the lowest, making your sorting that much easier. Though, it should be remembered that some of the PageRanks on display are most probably out of date, and may not reflect the site's current PageRank.

But, if exchanges, for higher PageRank purposes are important to your site, then the Google directory is the answer to what youre seeking. However, as a general rule, don't let PageRank determine your linking partners. Its far more important to make your site helpful, for your visitors and customers.

And, since directories are an excellent source of theme related link partners for any website, you should use a major one for the search such as DMOZ, the Yahoo! Directory, or the Google Directory. So, finding potential linking partners is very easy when you use the major directories or search engines.
